Kent served by British Rail

Kent served by British Rail

This poster like the other from Kent, Whitstable, was late in appearing. It was from the 60's when already the demise of the railway poster was inevitable due to the decline of the railways. There is probably a connection between the two posters as both feature in Kent and connect with the sea. Like Whitstable, this railway poster by Claude Buckle has no signature and is only initialed, represents the later style of the Buckle poster work. It is a very fine oil painting but unfortunately, the whereabouts of the original artwork is unknown. The picture shows the Oast Houses of Kent.    1960's BR
