A water colour painting by Claude Buckle entitled 'Going Alongside'
This picture appeared in R.S.M.A book ‘Themes in marine painting, River Coast and Estuary’. The picture measures 15in by 21in and was reproduced by the kind permission of Mrs Barbara Buckle.
The picture shows the harbour and larger fishing vessel with a smaller boat going alongside. The smaller vessel contains two fishermen in the foreground of the picture. Claude Buckle’s water colour is a tranquil scene but also one showing where work is taking place.
Note available also in Celebration of Marine Art 'sixty years of the Royal Society of Marine Artists' from Amazon. Picture shown on page 65.
Created in 1965.
