A water colour painting by Claude Buckle The Angler.
This successful picture depicts a river scene in which an angler is shown casting his line from a fishing boat. Unusually the whole of the for-ground depicts the swirl of the river with the fishing boat in the background. Location is unknown. This picture was reproduced by Medici in the 60’s and a print from this run was used in the film ‘Toast’ the autobiography of Nigel Slater as an example of an atmospheric 60’s picture .
Claude Buckle manages to capture the
true flowing of the river in his
classic water colour picture. Created in 1967.
